Love will always win... over cop shows and porn game adaptations.

Well... most of the time, anyway, and certainly in this case.

See, Nick decided to take a look at an oddball of a web animation made by a few Gainax ex-employees called Inferno Cop, and the results are... well... just not that good. Oh, and it's the show that's called Inferno Cop, and not the ex-employees. BAD SENTENCE STRUCTURE HOOOOO!

Which is why it's so nice that Allen delivers the goods with Lovely Complex, a show that informs us all of the dangers of being a short boy or a tall girl in Japan. Why, the risks of ending up as a couple are apparently quite high, and then you might end up inspiring an anime that's actually worth watching.

Which brings us to the last entry of the week, my review of Walkure Romanze, a show that's kind of short on Valkyries OR romance, instead thinking we'll settle with female knights in boob armor, porn game romantic angles that go absolutely nowhere and a crapload of fanservice.

And that's all she rode. Next time, let's hope we get to the long and short of it with shows that doesn't crash and burn. See you next week.

Who doesn't like swords?!

Hello, everybody. Looks like we got ourselves some nice averages this time around. (With one exception.)

To get that exception out of the way, Aiden elbows his way through Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga Gakuen Love-Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteru wishing he had a sword, because any way he could have used that would probably have been much more pleasant than sitting through this absurdly titled show.

Back in the world of averages, Nick has a pretty good time with Shakugan no Shana, a show that made a bit of a splash a few years back, but for some reason we never got that review done until now. To make up for that, Nick also includes the review for the specials; basically four short OAV episodes that was filler before filler got all mainstream and stuff.

Rounding off this update is Tim, and he's taking a look at Sword Art Online Extra Edition, kind of a clipshow and kind of not. Or maybe both. Either way, fun fun filler fun filler filler spam spam spam eggs bacon and spam.

See you next week.

P.S. Also, our sidebar is being fussy again. We're looking into it.

"I have seen your future, and it it nothing but a pain in the ars."

Well, at least for some of us. Tim is, at least, not having much fun with Kotoura-san, a show that can't really seem to settle on one track. That... sounds kind of familiar, come to think of it.

But if Tim's not having much fun, then Nick is downright livid because of some of the things that he has to endure with 11 Eyes, a show that adapts all the worst aspects of VN-dom and actually manages to outdo itself in the process. I imagine Haruka Kotoura wouldn't have wanted to read Nick's mind while he was writing up this review.

So while I wouldn't call Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova fantastic by any stretch of the imagination, it's still heads and shoulders above both the aforementioned shows. It's actually quite OK.

Well, at least things will get a bit better in the nex-.. what's that? Not by a whole lot? Oh dear.

Anyway, that's for next week. See you then.

"Breasts are best, no contest."

I'm not sure what to think right now. See, Nick, Allen and I came together to throw in a couple of reviews, and... well...

Nick starts off with Servant X Service, which can only be referred to as "Wagnaria's creator is having a bad day"... or however many days one needs to create a full TV series.

And you'd think an action-adventure centered around Galileo Galilei would beat that, right? Well, judging by what I watched in Galilei Donna, this is not the case if it, despite a promising start, bomb like the dickens.

So, it's up to Allen and his review for Ikkitousen: Great Guardians to save the day, and... it kind of does. It's a mid-rating show, sure, but it still beat out both of the ones Nick and I brought, when it really shouldn't have been able to.

I don't think even Wally Llama can figure out that one.

Anyway, that's it for this week. We will be returning next week with some more reviews, though, so have a nice week. And keep those questions coming. (But no Wally Llama-level ones, please.)

What Time Is It? Q&A Time!

Greetings once again! It's that time again; we've opened up our 3rd Round of THEM Anime Q&As! For those not familiar with this, this is when we ask YOU - the readers - to give us questions to answer for a future Q&A session. We will accept any questions aside from the following:

1.) Very personal questions on our personal lives. (General questions, like what is our favorite food/non-anime show/drink, are fine. Note that some of us might be open than others in terms of personal questions. If you're unsure, send a PM if you're on the forums or an e-mail if you're not to the staff member in question.)
2.) "When are you going to review this/why did you give this series a certain star rating?"

Eight reviewers are gathered up for this event. The nine lucky THEM Anime members who will be participating are:

Carlos Ross / miwasatoshi - carlos.ross@gmail.com
Rob Nelson / purplehaze9 - rwn115@psu.edu

You may send either e-mails to any of our happy participants, or send us a PM on the forums if you're a member on there. There are no limits to how many questions you may send, though we recommend a maximum of 10 per user. If you only want to ask certain members questions, please make note of that when sending questions. Otherwise we will assume you want us all to answer your questions.

Questions will be accepted anytime from now through 2/2/14 at 11:59 PM EST. Questions will be answered on Monday February 10th. A super secret round of Q&As will be followed up on on Monday February 17th.
