This Show is not a Cat.

One would be tempted to think so, however, with Allen's pick of the week, Cat's Eye, which does at least involve cat burglars, if nothing else. Allen thinks the show is quite OK, though with the caveat "thank God for complete idiots" when it comes to some of the supporting cast.

Nicoletta takes on a more ambitious project in Katte ni Kaizou, not to mention a bit of an eccentric one. Normally, shows like that is right up her alley, but this show seems to be toeing the line a bit. It's still alright, though.

All averages this time around, in other words. Next week, however, we'll have something nice for each side of the gender border. See you then.

Allen Won't Decline The Darkness...

...which is mighty self-sacrificing of him, because he set out to watch To Love-Ru: Darkness, a show that kind of slipped between the cracks since the review for it has been done for a while. It also made me a partial liar, because I said the shows we'd have reviews for this week would be almost as good as last week's, but... well, like Allen said, Darkness is... it's not good. Not good at all.

At least I can stick to my original target, the endearing short show Komori-san Can't Decline, about yes-woman Komori who, because she always helps anyone with anything, develops superpowers. Or... well, at least a wide variety of practical abilities.

Next week, we'll have the Allen review that was originally meant to go up today, as well as something from Nick now that he's returned from the icy hellscapes of the south. See you all on the flipside.

No F's for these shows.

Even if Allen's show has the letter in the title, he thinks Everything Becomes F: The Perfect Insider deserves better than that.... with some caveats. LINER NOTES AHOY!

Meanwhile, I take a look at a new version of an old shonen classic, Ushio and Tora, which finally got a full TV series treatment after the original OAV just fell into limbo somewhere along the lines. Granted, this show isn't the whole thing either, but there is a lot more going on here than in the original OAV, even if many of the episodes might be interchangeable.

Either way, great shows all around. Next week will be.... almost as good. See you then.

Critics Who Chase Classroom Children's Crisis Core Criterias.

Or something.

Allen starts us off with Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Below, another movie in the already impressive lineup of the venerable Makoto Shinkai, master of gorgeous scenery and unrequited (or nearly requited) love. Will this movie be any different? Allen says "watch and see for yourself".

Nick takes on Classroom Crisis, a show that, in his opinion, salvages itself somewhat from being one of an excess of dreary high-school rom-com shows by dabbling in politics.

And that's it. Next week, THEM anime might get an F.. that is to say, a show with an F in the title.. in that it's, uh... never mind. Drop by next Monday, and you'll see what I mean.
