Fantastic Labyrinth of Red Herring.

Well, OK, maybe not quite that, but Allen feels that Fantastic Detective Labyrinth only gets better once it changes away from its original purpose or some such. How weird is that?

And that's the last review before the big Christmas Crunch. December tends to be the most busy month for us all, but hopefully we'll still have time to throw in a review now and then. If nothing else, there's the Reverse Secret Santa event to look forward to.

See you all later.

"I've Always Short-changed You!"

Well... not that Allen hasn't been a really productive reviewer lately. I guess I've Always Liked You just didn't leave him much to talk about, being a pleasant, but ultimately kind of a run-of-the-mill love story. A quick snack, as it were. At least it's much better than the stuff we had for you the two previous weeks. I mean... it'd have to work very hard to be worse. Fun times, I guess.

Well... we'll see you next week with something approximately equally pleasant. Probably.

A Three Day Long Case of the Mondays

So, to answer Stig:

No. It doesn't get better. At least not this week, as I've jumped on the grenade that is Crystal Triangle. Just ... read for yourself.

See you next Monday!

Hundred Horrible Hybrids on the Wall....

With anime in such a state that it is right now, maybe even that won't be enough.

Me and Tim gave Hundred a chance, and for a little while, we actually dared carry a little torch of optimism inside of ourselves. But nope, the show basically squandered all that by being such a boring, by-the-number magical school/super-powered armor series with animation on a steep decline going from average to horrible and a cast so tedious it makes the Trinity Seven gang look downright Shakesperian by comparison.

And still Allen was the one who drew the short straw. Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia is such a spectacular failure of a show, solely aimed at people whose dream job is "Playboy Bunny Girl Massage Staff" or something. It took everything about Hundred and then apparently thought it needed the duty-based sex-angled means of powering up. I guess you can at least be thankful that the show lets you know what you're in for in the first episode, so that you can boot it off your queue once it's finished. Or before that, even.

Christ, this has been a terrible week.

But hey, look on the bright side; we can only go up from here, right? Right?!
