Oh dear, oh dear...

The new year's first viewings has not been kind on either of our review staff. While there has been a lot of excellent shows in 2006, none of them will be leading off the new year's updates.

Starting off, Connor takes us through the joyride that is AWOL: Absent without leave. (Wasn't that a Van Damme film? Or would that one be considered superior to whatever the hell this is?) Naturally, the show itself is a terrorist act in more ways than one.

Continuing the descent into hell is Tim, suffering through the at least blessedly short Sky Girls OAV, noting that this might be considered an ill omen on the upcoming TV series with the same name. Uh oh!

And lastly, our current updating editor takes on not one, but two hits to his sanity. Admittedly, Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru isn't the worst show he has ever seen that's being forced into a dress, but neither is it anything that would be described as "recommended viewing".

What eventually made the walls bleed and the screams start resounding was the show Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na ~Crescent Love~, which proves to be yet another insanely dull and trite love comedy, which just happens to have a really long title with some random English between tildes. English in tildes and great suckitude.... there must be a connection somewhere. Hmmmm....

Join us next time, and hopefully, we will have something of actual value by then.

- Stig Høgset.

Addition 3/2-2007: Mai-Hime and Mai-Otome has been changed to My-Hime and My-Otome to reflect the DVD release titles by Bandai.
