AniZona and The Joys of Publicity

As a run-up to AniZona, Christi and I were interviewed by the Phoenix New Times. Over the next week, I will be posting the full, unedited transcript of our interview with Robrt L Pela for those interested in the full context and in seeing how an interview gets turned into a newspaper article. It's all rather interesting.

Spring Break Update

Carlos takes a look at the hilariously skewed parody CROMARTIE HIGH SCHOOL and gives it a very positive rating. He also reviews the long-awaited R1 release of the 1988 OAV adaptation of FIVE STAR STORIES, giving a second opinion to join one of the oldest reviews on our site (dating back from 1996!).

Our chief (and for that matter only) Norwegian reviewer, Stig, gives us a positive look at the old school space opera goodness of STAR BLAZERS: THE COMET EMPIRE and STAR BLAZERS: THE BOLARS WARS.

He also heaps scorn, disgust, and about every other negative feeling at the "disturbing sexual comedy" OAV EIKEN.

Vicious Gunslinging Tea Dogs And Educational Westerns..Or Is That The Other Way Around?

Hannah starts us off with a qualified but still generally positive review of the cute children's anime, Ocha-Ken.

Stig follows up with with the samurai feudal western (seriously) Grenadier. While he doesn't claim it is the best thing since sliced bread, he still finds it enjoyable. He also swears he enjoys the show for more than just the the size of the main character's chest.

Lastly, Connor gives a glowing review of the Miyazaki classic, Future Boy Conan.
