Sister Princest, the Purity Play.

So yeah, Allen takes on Sister Princess RePure, and comes to the conclusion that it's as harmless as any show promoting actual incest can be. Which sounds like a weird kind of compliment to give, but there it is.

Well, I guess that's the way the brother flies this week. See you again in ssssseven daysssss.

P.S. Oh yeah, it turns out Laid-Back Camp season 2 was 13 episodes, so... much egg in face for me for assuming it had the same number of episodes as the first season. My point still stands, though.

Sleight of Hand, Laid of Back...

So yeah, I am cheating a bit on this, retroactively setting it as "full (12/12)" even though I have one episode left to watch at the time of updating. But let's get serious here; Laid-Back Camp season 2 simply isn't going to bomb completely in the last episode, undoing everything I loved about it, much less both of them put together, and I dare you -- I double! dare! you -- to try to convince me otherwise. I mean... I'm not going to do this often, maybe not ever again; I'm just saying that Laid-Back Camp is one of the few shows worth that level of faith.

Well... that, and I've already read the story arc in the manga, but hey.... see you again next week.

Decked Out To The Nines in Cybernetic Finery.

This week, Allen takes a look at Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier. It's the 2001 version, and I can't even say that this is "recent" anymore, as it's a twenty year old show. That being said, Allen generally liked it, even if it had a few aspects that are... kind of out of date by modern standards, but in that weird way that it shouldn't be in 2001. Retroactive old-fashionedness, maybe?

Well, that's that. See you again next week.

In the Arms of a Mongol...

Hello, everyone, and welcome to history class. Today's show is Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion, a show in the awkward position of being set in a specific real-life historical event, but also one you probably shouldn't use as a basis for your history paper in any school, even if it gets some things right.

And that's it for this week. Next week is a bit up in the air, but we'll see about getting something up within two weeks, at least.

Grand BluEEEERGH!

So, apparently, Allen's pick of the week is sending quite a few mixed messages. Grand Blue Dreaming seems like a perfect package of all the best and worst impulses of adulthood, or at least early adulthood, and turns that into a package that is... mostly fun?

Well, next week, I'm hoping we can get back to that history lesson that probably shouldn't be taught at school, at least in the way the show presents it. See you all then.
