"The Dance Is a Lie."

Or, well... almost. Because Tim watched a show called HaNaYaMaTa, which is a show supposedly centered around a Japanese dance called Yosakoi. He didn't much like it, partially because it recycled old, tiresome comedy tropes, but more so because it rarely featured any Yosakoi at all. It's like watching a Bruce Lee movie with all the fighting sequences removed.

Well, that's it for 2014. See you again in 2015.

The Return of the Reverse Thieves Secret Santa Bonanza 2014.

So yes, we're participating in this again. Well, at least those who had time to spare and a mind to not forget to sign up for it. ^^;;

Nick: At the onset of Say, "I Love You", I wasn't sure if that'd be what I'd be telling it in my review...in fact, I imagined it being a lot closer to "screw you." But things picked up, and now I'll happily say "I like you" to this show. I'm not at the point of making the ultimate declaration to it, but it did end up being a nice little series all the same.

Stig: My contribution this year will be a second opinion, because my choices fell on three shows that sadly weren't available on Crunchy in Norway. Of the two available on DVD, I went for Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, which, despite my initial worries, I found to be a generally sweet and funny show.

There were also supposed to be a third review from Aiden, but he seems to have been swallowed by Christmas. We sent out the rescue dogs, though, so hopefully his review will show up eventually.

Either way, we all at THEM wish you a merry Christmas and we hope the holidays will find you well.

Brotherhood on the Moon.

One day, Allen was thinking: "You know, it's been a while since we've reviewed a proper epic here." And so said, he lauched himself at Space Brothers like a starving, superstitious astronaut suffering from a serious cheese withdrawal. A gargantuan undertaking... for the most part, and just one episode short of being a three-digit episode epic too. (No, the episode number isn't a typo.)

99 luftballons episodes... that should tide you over until the next update, at least. See you then.

The Double-D Appreciation Club is now in session.

So yeah, I promised you guys something much better last week, didn't I? Well, here it is; High School DxD New, the sequel to the series that proved to be a surprising lot of fun. Isn't it all the more ironic, then, that I expected the next season to live up to that, and it actually did so?

Next week, Allen will be making the weekly contribution to this site, but more than that, some of the THEMers will also once again partake in a yearly tradition (that we kind of forgot to sign up for these last two years. Our bad.)

See you then.

"I don't want to go to school today...."

So yeah, you know how it goes; you have nothing to write about, because the shows you've signed up for are either already reviewed or you haven't completed them yet. Or so I thought, before one of my reviewing colleagues chimed in with "what about that show you watched a few years ago and absolutely hated? What was it called? Da Capo III? You should review that."

So I did. And wouldn't you know, one of my packages arrived not long after I finished it. The good news in all this is that at least I've got a review for a much better show prepared for you for next week. That's a good tradeoff, right?

....

No, I guess I didn't think so either. Oh well, the damage is already done, so let me share in this damage with all of you. Stay tuned for next week, when I'll have a review ready for a much better show.

Barack Obama Plus Pokemon Equals...Calligraphy?

And why not? This week's pick involves neither card games nor the President of the United States, but Barakamon, in addition to having a wonderfully pun-prone title, also turned out to be one of the best picks of the year. Read on to find out why I enjoyed this show so much.

We should be back next week with more. Until then.
