When You Wish Upon a Star...

Though the protagonist in our show of the week could probably just fly there anyway with his rocket feet. Yes, this week, Allen takes a look at Astro Boy, which is to say the 1980 recoloring work of the original show. It's a neat show, though the original version came out in 1963, so Allen warns people that while it's admirable that the show brings up robot rights, it maybe isn't quite as eager when it comes to more modern topics like feminism.

Well, that's how it goes. Next week, Allen will really feel the weight of the world upon the show's shoulders. Or something. See you all then.

Drawing The Line of (or for) Your Life.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen of a (hopefully) more modern persuasion. Today I have for you a show set in an era where life options for women weren't many unless you really were willing to stick your neck out. Fortunately for us, the discerning audience, Arte is such a woman, although a curiously friendly and optimistic sort at that. Sure, there's probably quite a few historical inaccuracies for those who know where to look, but if you're willing to let that slide, this is a very entertaining show that definitely should be given a chance. Much like its main character, am I right?

And with that, we are another week closer to Christmas. For the next two weeks, we will at least have something done on the Monday either before or after Christmas eve, so... let's see how this goes? At any rate, stay safe, everyone.

Home Sweet Hotel.

This week, Allen gives Hanasaku Iroha The Movie: Home Sweet Home a go, and he finds it an interesting and worthy successor to the series that probably went under a lot of people's radars. And the show and movie is now eight years old, even.

As for next week, that's going to depend on who reaches their goal first. See you all then.
