"Nei, nå har jeg aldri sett maken..."

Because Allen sort of did. He watched both seasons of Maken-Ki! -- the exclamation mark is very important!. Just ask Keijo!!!!!!!! -- and found it a bit lacking in anything except bust sizes. The moral is, apparently, that if that's all you care about, you'll probably like this. If not, well... move on?

The title line, by the way, is taken from an old Norse folk tale called "Prinsessen som ingen kunne målbinde", which sort of loosely translates as "The Princess who nobody could defeat verbally". The line itself translates as "No, I've never seen anything like it", although contextually is more of a "well, I never...." line. And that comes with the realisation that I just compared an old Norse folk tale to a tiddy show. There's a time and a place for everything, I guess, and I do wonder what the Princess would have to say about that. Or would I literally leave her speechless from the act alone?

Anyway, I digress. Not the best way to start off a week, but not to worry, because I've got a real gem for you next Monday. See you all then.

Looks like we'll be taking a sabbatical this week.

I got some shows lined up, but they haven't entirely finished yet, as is the case with some of the others too. Although Allen can have himself a well-deserved rest for once. So... nothing this week.

We hope you have a nice week otherwise, though.

Fame and Glory, Kid. Fame and Glory...

Although in the case of the protagonists in Allen's pick of the week; the somewhat pretentiously named Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, there won't be much of either. Still, he rather liked the show, so there's that.

Anyway, that was another week. They've been passing through far quicker than what I'm comfortable with. But hopefully we'll have something for you next week too. See you then.

Home of the Brave.

This week, Tim and I are taking a look at the most recent addition to the Strike Witches franchise, namely Brave Witches, which sort of doesn't quite live up to its forebears. With so many good "cute girls doing things (not necessarily cute)" shows that are coming out these days, this franchise -- least of all -- can't afford getting lazy. Especially since it followed in the footsteps of a movie that was actually good.

Well, that's just the way the witch flies sometimes, we guess. We'll see some greener shores next time, we hope.
