An Innside Job.
All our fears were for naught, as Allen gives us a look at Okko's Inn, a serious, but also delightful little movie about a young girl facing some adversity upon her parents' death, yet managing to overcome this through a little gumption and some help from her friends. It's... not as stereotypical as it sounds.
We should be so lucky with next week's entry, though. See you all then.

Still Morose After All These Years....
Yes, Allen brings us back to when things were kind of heavy with The Morose Mononokean II, and finds it as delightfully non-mundane as usual.
Next week might be a bit up in the air, because hoo boy, the older you get, the less time off you get on your vacations. Let's hope we can get something assembled in time. See you then?

Girls Onna Plane!
It just occured to me that it would be hellishly amusing if anyone civilian in this show pointed to the sky and went "Is it a bird?! IS IT A PLANE?!" because the latter is what half of the beings in Girly Air Force are. Yes, the tagline "50% of one thing and 50% of the other thing makes 100% madcap shenanigans" would liven up this show a bit, I think, because the worst part about it is that it's a bit drab despite doing a few things quite well. And there's not nearly enough jet fighter nerdery, damn it! Or shenanigans. At least of the funny variety.
Next week will see us back on a more spiritual side of things, Y-OKai?

The Adventures of The Little Grey Ones...
Yes, Allen takes a look at The Promised Neverland, a show about a group of quite special children facing a very special problem, and what it takes to rise beyond the occasion, because to the occasion simply isn't going to be enough. It's a great series, he says, but it's not an easy watch. So be warned.
Next week, we'll face an entirely different threat, although it's kind of a dance we've done before. See you all then.

Perfectly Average On a Common Day.
Is there such a thing as a perfect man (or woman?) Well, for the men's side, Allen brings us Haven't you heard? I'm Sakamoto!, who finds this aspect of perfection rather boring, all things considered.
At least the victims of this particular take on humanity is better off than what next week's protagonists will have to face, because boy howdy, that's not going to be pretty. See you all then.
