Sweetness and Lightning, Very Very Frightening....
Parenthood might be a frightening challenge on its own, but being a single parent of a somewhat rambunctious bundle of energy might be even more nerve-wracking. So is the case of the main lead in Sweetness and Lightning, where its main child lead, Tsumugi, places herself somewhere between Rin and Reina from Usagi drop when it comes to general child behavior. Though its subject is centered around something I only have a casual relationship to at best, it's still a really sweet show, so the title certainly isn't lying or overselling its content.
Summer approaches too, so maybe we'll have some waterfront fun for you next Monday. See you all then.

The Show That Warns You Not to Watch.
Yeah, seriously, it's that bad. Tim gives Abunai Sisters: Koko & Mika a look, and then wishes he'd thrown himself on a real, live grenade instead. It's just awful.
Things didn't turn out any better this week at all, did it? I think we need to stop doing this to ourselves, and hopefully next week will be the week to let us do that.

Vampires Inverted.
Oof, today's update turned out to be two extremes on the big review rating scale.
Allen was the lucky one this time. He had the chance to watch Patema Inverted, which he absolutely loved. I don't know if it turned his expectations upside-down, but something got turned on its head, at least.
Meanwhile, I had a go at Bloodivores. Yes, that is the show's name. No, it's being very serious. Well, trying, at least. No, it's not a good show, neither is it bad in a good or fun way. It's just... really, really bad. Unrelentingly, bewilderingly bad. Just... just read.
Well... I guess it's fair that I get the terrible show once in a while too. Can't all be gold. Next week is hopefully going a little easier on all of us. See you then?

Your Name... is far too long.
Well, maybe not for the first review. Carlos takes a look at Makoto Shinkai's latest movie, Your Name. (period apparently part of said title), a record-breaking marvel of a movie.
I'm not quite as enthused about my pick of the week, though. I watched another entry in my "please shorten your damn show names, Japan" book; Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club, a title that makes me glad there is such a thing as "copy and paste" on a computer. As for the show, it's... alright. It's got lovely scenery and a very welcoming feel to it, but it's no Encouragement of Climb, that's for sure.
Next week will be an even more divisive week. We'll have one gem and one... bloody mess, so to speak. See you all then.

Go Go Tricky Style!!3
So, Allen reviewed this show called Trickster, and... well, from what I gather, he did end up feeling kind of tricked, but not in a good way.
Meanwhile, I finally get to see Wagnaria!!3 through to its conclusion, and it was glorious because it actually ENDS! Not that there is a finality to it or anything, but though the second season teased us a whole lot, this third and final season rewarded us all for our patience. And it really did pay off in a huge way. I am seriously happy with this, and if you liked the two earlier seasons, so will you.
Next week, we have something great and something average for you all. Almost like this week, except Allen didn't feel his pick was even average, so... a step up, I guess?
