Drawing the Line on Cute Girls.

That is to say Nicoletta watched Comic Girls, and found it a refreshingly straightforward, friendly and cute series about a girl trying to get a foothold in the manga industry, bringing in a lot of fun viewpoints and happenings without getting too caught up in itself. It seems to hit that sweet spot between sincerity and encouragement, and it comes recommended.

And that's our current contribution of the week. Next week, I shall delve into more recently released old-school matters. See you then.

"I Can Let You Do That, Allen...."

Yeah, it's Allen's week once again. He takes a look at the movie Hal, a title which makes me sad I didn't have the foresight to make this review the one with the number ID 2001, even if this OAV has nothing to do with monoliths, rampant AI's -- well, I don't think there are any rampant AI's in here at any rate -- or space fetuses. Hal wants to be a smart movie, Allen realizes, but his reaction is still a bit on the "eeeeeeh" side, even if he sort of enjoyed it.

Next week sees the return of Nicoletta and a show she rather enjoyed. It's nice when you get to talk about stuff you like. See you all then.

Thou Shalt Cross a Zombie Girl at Your Own Peril.

It seems the long and short of it is the order of the day today. Myself, I take a look at a mildly amusing series called Crossing Time, which is mainly about short conversations at a train crossing, so it makes sense that the episodes are no longer than around four minutes. A decent time period for a quick chat, no?

Meanwhile, Allen throws himself at the 79 minute single episode OAV that is Calamity of a Zombie Girl, and it doesn't look like the OAV in question is short-changing itself in the viscera-splashing department either. Still, worth watching as long as you keep that in mind.

Neither of them will eat up much of your spare time (and brains) either, so put on your bib and dive in. And we'll see you next week again.

Orbitally Obtuse and Calci....trantically Crazy.

Yes, Allen looked towards Korea this time around, and what he found was Sattelite Girl and Milk Cow, which is a show that's just as advertised. Even though the cow is actually really a male. And this isn't a hentai by any stretch of the imagination. Weirded out yet? According to Allen, if you plan on watching this, you haven't even begun your ascent to whatever feelings of absurdity this show wants to unload on you. And yet it's fun and good and fun and good in ways only a show where Merlin is a roll of toilet paper can be. See y'all on the flip side.

And also: next week. Later.
