"Hey, who put this lighthearted slice of life in my serious pie?"

So yeah, we had a good thing going here, with Aiden starting us off on Zetsuen no Tempest, a Shakespearian effort if there ever was one.

..what? There is more? Romeo x Juliet, you say? Maybe we'll get to that later.

Anyway, Dallas is up next with an anime adaptation of a videogame series, and surprise of surprises, it's also damn good. (Or maybe just darn good.) It's Valkyria Chronicles, a show that had its flaws, but is otherwise an intriguing watch.

And then I come in at the end and ruin the whole thing by including yet another slice-of-life anime about high-school girls; namely Aiura, another short web animation -- which seems to be all the rage nowadays. You'd think the anime industry had something to say about our attention spans.

Well, that's it for now. See you guys again next week.

P.S. There seems to be something funky going on with the sidebar. It's basically not including the newest reviews for some reason. We're... working on that.

Choose yer poison...

So, once again, Aiden and I have to contend with each our show for today's update.

Aiden does fare adequately well with GJ-bu, a show about a boy in high school whose life gets overrun by a group of girls.

Meanwhile, I contend with the second half of Neo Angelique Abyss, namely its failed attempt to avoid the tildes curse by adding "-Second Age-" to its title like this. Alas....

And with that, we round off another update. See you guys again next week.

The Devil's in the Dorsal Fin.

We got two reviews for you today.

Aiden lead off with corruption. To be more specific, corporate corruption, spearheaded by the devil. See, The Devil is a Part-Timer sees the forces of darkness invade the fast food culture with... pretty good results, apparently. Didn't see that one coming.

I, too, have comedy on my mind. Crazy, occasionally shroom-fueled comedy from the sea. Muromi-san is here to win you all over with her foul mouth and her brazen lack of respect for a good tail. And it's... pretty good. Maybe not quite up to the level of Devil in Fast Food Joints, but hey... this girl ain't giving up her voice for a pair of legs.

And that's it for now. See you again, presumably next week lest I almost forget again.

A Quiet Start To The Month

As ironic as it might sound, we're all busy on this Labor Day. Our sole review of the week is Dallas' second opinion on Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, which I reviewed a couple of years back. His view of the show is quite a bit different from mine, so read for yourself how he feels about it.
